Reports: 16 killed in attack on wedding in Turkey

Assailants with grenades and automatic weapons attacked a wedding in southeast Turkey on Monday, killing at least 16 people and wounding 20 others, new organizations reported.
The nighttime attack occurred in Sultansehmuz village near the city of Mardin, and it was not immediately clear who was responsible. Turkish soldiers and pro-government village guards have been fighting Kurdish guerrillas in the region for years.
Cihan news agency and CNN-Turk television said 16 people died in the attack and 20 were injured. NTV television confirmed the same death toll. The state-run Anatolia news agency said at least several people had died.
Cihan said the wounded were taken to a hospital in Mardin, where the city's police chief visited them. It said soldiers were dispatched to Kirkcesme, the village hamlet where the attack occurred.
