Lions flanker Alan Quinlan cited for eye gouging

Munster flanker Alan Quinlan is in danger of losing his place in the British and Lions squad to tour South Africa after being cited Monday on an eye-gouging charge from his team's loss to Leinster in the European Cup semifinals.
The Ireland forward was reported by citing commissioner John Byett for apparently making contact with the right eye of Leinster lock Leo Cullen. Leinster won Saturday's game 25-6.
A disciplinary hearing will be held in the next few days. If Quinlan is found guilty, he is almost certain to miss the May 30-July 4 Lions tour because the minimum punishment is 12 weeks.
If he is out, Lions head coach Ian McGeechan is likely to call up either Wales captain Ryan Jones or England's Tom Croft.
