Spain raises to 54 number of swine flu cases

Spain's Health Ministry has raised the number of confirmed cases of swine flu to 54.
That number means Spain remains the hardest-hit nation in Europe amid the worldwide outbreak.
A ministry statement says Spanish officials have detected 10 new cases in the Andalucia region in the south and Valencia in the east.
The confirmed cases include four people had not recently been to Mexico, the apparent source of the global outbreak, the ministry said in a statement.
Of the confirmed cases, only 11 people are still in the hospital. The rest have been released and sent home. None of the 54 are in serious condition, it added.
A total of 60 people are under observation.
Health Minister Trinidad Jimenez was meeting Monday with a national committee set up to monitor the flu epidemic. She was also meeting with Development Minister Jose Blanco to discuss preventive measures to apply at Spain's airports.
