Leading US health expert urging cautious approach

A leading U.S. health expert says it's too early to say the threat of a swine flu pandemic has leveled off.
But at the same time, Dr. Richard Besser said Monday there are increasing indications the strain of flu health officials have been worried about "looks very much like seasonal flu."
Besser is acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He was interviewed on CBS television as cases in the United States now total nearly 250.
When asked if it was time to ease off on school closings and other preventive steps, Besser said, "I'm not ready to say that yet."
Some 36,000 Americans die each year of seasonal flu.
