Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Tropical Depression Chan-Hom is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm as it moves through the South China Sea. The system's slow progression will keep it to the southeast of Nha Trang, Vietnam before it advances northeastward toward the Philippines. The storm is not expected to make landfall.
Tropical Storm Kujira will move away from the Philippines as it treks northeastward into the Pacific. Showers and thunderstorms will persist across the Philippines.
An area of low pressure to the south of Japan will bring stormy weather across southern and central Japan. The system will bring showers and windy conditions as it moves northward. The heaviest rainfall is expected along the central coast. Areas near Shima, Japan should expect periods of torrential rain through the evening.
Eastern China and the Korean Peninsula will see dry and mild weather. Shanghai will see temperatures in the lower 20s C, while Seoul will rise into the mid-20s C. Tokyo will see temperatures in the mid-20s C.
In Australia, a high pressure system will remain centered over the Great Australian Bight, bringing dry and fair conditions. The system may also bring showers to the eastern coastal regions. Sydney will see temperatures in the mid-20s C, while Melbourne rise into the upper 10s C. Brisbane will see temperatures in the mid-20s C.
