US confirms 40 US cases of swine flu

The government is confirming 40 cases of the new swine flu in the United States, with the 20 additional ones coming from a New York City school where students spent spring break in Mexico.
The acting head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also says the federal government is readying a travel advisory instructing Americans to avoid nonessential travel to Mexico.
Dr. Richard Besser made that disclosure during a news conference in Atlanta on Monday. He says the advisory was being released "out of an abundance of caution."
Besser says there have been 40 confirmed cases of swine flu in the United States, including the 20 in New York City.
