Protesters try to disrupt IMF meetings in DC

About 100 activists are protesting world leaders' handling of the economic crisis by trying to disrupt the weekend International Monetary Fund and World Bank meetings in Washington.
The protesters marched Saturday morning and attempted to block two intersections, including an area near hotels where they say delegates are staying. Both times, the protesters were steered back to the sidewalk by police.
Protesters are holding signs that read "Capitalism do not resuscitate" and are chanting "pump up the people power" as police follow them.
The demonstrations are sponsored by the D.C.-based group Global Justice Action. Organizers say other events are planned, including an educational forum focusing on various institutions' roles in the economic meltdown.
