Man arrested in Mexico in US immigrant slayings

A Mexican citizen has been arrested in his homeland in the December 2007 killings of four Mexican construction workers at the apartment they all shared, the FBI said Wednesday
FBI spokesman Mike Brooks identified the suspect as Santiago Moreno, 34, who was arrested Monday.
The bodies of the four illegal immigrants were found in their apartment in suburban Sharonville after they had not reported to work for several days. Officials said they had been beaten and stabbed in the heart.
Hamilton County Coroner O'dell Owens identified the victims as brothers Manuel Davila Duenas, 31, and Jose de Jesus Davila Duenas, 21; Lino Guardado Davila, 45; and Manuel Lopez Guardado, 21, also identified by Mexican authorities as Conrado Lopez Guardado.
All four men were from the town of Zacaton in the northern Mexican state of San Luis Potosi, a spokesman at the Mexican embassy said after the bodies were found.
Brooks did not say where Moreno was being held.
The victims were employed as bricklayers and stonemasons. Authorities found the bodies after their employer had asked for help locating the men.
Officials said the men had lived quietly, their apartment almost devoid of furniture or clothing. Relatives said they had sent money home to families in Mexico, and had planned to return to observe Christmas.
