Prague missile defense protest banned

Czechs opposed to hosting part of a U.S. missile shield say they will go ahead with a protest march during President Barack Obama's visit, despite a ban on the demonstration.
The protesters want to march to Prague's Congress Center Sunday where Obama will meet leaders of 27 European Union nations. City Hall banned the march Thursday, saying it would interfere with security for Obama's visit. It proposed an alternate route which the protesters rejected.
Jan Majicek, an organizer, said the protesters must get to the Congress Center for their march against a proposed radar base to make sense.
Obama has not said whether the U.S. will go ahead with the missile defense deal, brokered under former President George W. Bush. Russia, and many Czechs, oppose the plan.
