International court judges elect new presidentt

Judges at the International Criminal Court have elected a South Korean judge as the tribunal's new president.
The court says Song Sang-hyun has been elected to a three year term. He replaces Canadian Philippe Kirsch, whose term ended this week.
Song is a former adviser to South Korea's Supreme Court and Ministry of Justice and helped reform his country's penal code and court procedures.
The court says in a statement Wednesday that Fatoumata Dembele Diarra of Mali and Hans-Peter Kaul of Germany were elected as vice presidents.
The court was established in 2002 as the world's first permanent war crimes tribunal. Last week it issued an warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir for allegedly masterminding atrocities in Darfur.
