Venezuela gets 2nd patrol boat from Spain

Spain's state-owned military shipyard has delivered the second of eight patrol boats it's building for the Venezuelan navy.
Navantia is helping manufacture the boats for President Hugo Chavez's government under a 2005 contract that irritated Washington.
Venezuelan navy Commander Zahim Quintana Castro says the country hopes to launch similar vessels every six months.
The ceremony in the Spanish city of Cadiz was transmitted by Venezuelan state television Wednesday.
Venezuela had also planned to buy 10 military planes from Spain under the deal. But Washington blocked that part of the sale in 2006 by preventing the transfer of key U.S.-made aircraft parts, saying it could upset the military balance in South America.
