Reports: Person survives plunge over Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls Park Police tell the Niagara Gazette that a person survived going over the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side.
There is no update on the person's condition. WBEN-AM says the person survived the plunge. There are no other details.
The Buffalo News reported that rescuers were working in the river below the falls Wednesday afternoon.
The last person known to survive a plunge over the falls was Kirk Jones, a former auto parts salesman from Michigan who climbed down a small embankment and jumped into the Niagara River on Oct. 20, 2003.
Jones said he had been depressed and had been drinking vodka and cola when he went over the famous falls on the Canadian side, a drop of 180 feet (55 meters).
At least 17 people _ not including suicide attempts _ are known to have gone over the falls.
