Nonprofit sues US over border fence

A national consumer advocacy group is suing the federal government over a lack of information on the U.S.-Mexico border fence.
Public Citizen filed a lawsuit in Washington on Wednesday saying federal agencies aren't complying with a University of Texas professor's request seeking documents about the planning of the fence.
The suit was filed on behalf of Denise Gilman, a law professor and member of a group studying the human rights impact of the border fence. She made the information request in April.
The government is nearing completion of 670 miles (1078 kilometers) of fencing along the border. The project has met widespread opposition in South Texas, where segments will touch hundreds of private property owners.
