Central Coast, Pohang 0-0 in ACL

Goalkeeper Danny Vukovic tipped Choi Hyo-jin's shot over the crossbar in stoppage time to salvage a 0-0 draw for Australian club Central Coast against South Korea's Pohang Steelers in Wednesday's Asian Champions League Group H match.
Pohang missed three good chances to clinch valuable away points in the second half.
Macedonian international Stevicka Ristik headed over the cross bar from close range in the 61st minute.
Kim Kwang-suk's angled header from Brazilian forward Denilson's cross went wide in the 72nd minute and Korean international Choi's 20-yard strike was saved by Vukovic two minutes from the end.
The result ended a seven-match losing streak for Central Coast Mariners, who lost their past five matches in Australia's domestic A-League and then lost twice in China in warmup matches for the ACL.
Mariners coach Lawrie McKinna said his team's defense was vastly improved and it was unlucky not to win.
"We deserved a bit more," he said. "Overall, the run we've had, playing against a very good team, it's a good start and we can build on it.
"We can do things better. Tonight was solid _ it wasn't flash. There were some good moments, but a lot better than the last five weeks."
Central Coast travels to Tianjin Teda in China next week. Pohang is at home to Japan's Kawasaki Frontale.
