Leafs' Toskala has his surgery, out for season

Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Vesa Toskala underwent season-ending hip surgery on Monday to repair a torn labrum and was expected to have a rehabilitation time of 12 weeks.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Marc Philippon in Vail, Colorado.
The Maple Leafs, who are not in playoff contention, will finish the season with backup goalie Curtis Joseph and Swiss pickup Martin Gerber sharing the starting duties.
Toskala last played on March 3.
The Finn was 22-11-17 in 53 appearances this season with a 3.26 goals-against average and .891 save percentage.
