UN chief: 2009 a 'make-or-break' year for UN

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says 2009 is a "make-or-break" year for the organization and its member countries.
Ban said Tuesday during an Oval Office meeting with President Barack Obama that he hopes the United States will work with the international organization to address climate change and the humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
The two leaders also spoke about the ongoing war in Afghanistan.
Obama says he wants to work with Ban on those subjects. He says the situation in Darfur is not acceptable and that inaction is "not acceptable."
Obama says he wants to send a strong and unified message with the U.N. to bring peace and security to the region.
