Argentina crush US 8-0 in Pan American Cup

Argentina crushed the United States 8-0 to complete pool play undefeated and without conceding a goal in Pan American Cup field hockey on Tuesday.
Argentina scored 33 goals in three wins to top Pool A. The U.S. was already guaranteed a berth in the semifinals on Saturday.
Pedro Ibarra scored three times for Argentina, captain Matias Vial and Juan Ignacio Gilardi twice each, and Facundo Callioni once.
Defending champion Canada beat Mexico 7-3, forcing Chile to beat Brazil by more than eight goals in a late game to top Pool B and avoid a semifinal with Argentina.
Canada led 3-1 at halftime, but Mexico's Ruben Martinez scored immediately after the break to cut the gap to one.
But less than 10 minutes later, Scott Tupper scored his second of the match to ensure Canada's victory, and he capped the scoring for his second tournament hat trick.
