Storm building in upper Midwest, closes highway

Heavy snow driven by strong wind has forced snowplows off roads in parts of eastern North Dakota and residents are being advised to just stay home.
Up to a foot of snow was forecast Tuesday for parts of North Dakota.
The National Weather Service posted blizzard warnings for eastern sections of North Dakota and South Dakota and for western Minnesota.
A 90-mile section of Interstate 94 was closed Tuesday morning from Fargo to Jamestown and some flights out of Fargo's airport were canceled. An ambulance crash on the icy I-94 killed a patient Monday.
Fargo public works maintenance supervisor Lee Anderson said Tuesday morning that snowplow crews couldn't keep up with the drifting snow.
Some schools are closed in northeastern South Dakota.
