Maradona impressed by Di Maria

Argentina football coach Diego Maradona was impressed by Benfica's Argentine winger Angel Di Maria after watching the midfielder score as a second-half substitute in a League Cup match against Olhanense on Wednesday night.
Di Maria, who played for 25 minutes, dribbled in the area and coolly chipped over the goalkeeper for the last goal in a 4-1 win at the Stadium of Light.
"He didn't play for long but he showed a desire to be in the Argentina team, which makes me happy," Maradona, a guest of honor at the match, said in comments carried by sports paper a Bola Thursday. "I always liked to dribble before shooting and Di Maria did it very well."
Di Maria, who debuted for the national under-20 team in 2007, played at last year's Beijing Olympics where he scored the only goal in the final against Nigeria, helping Argentina to its second straight Olympic gold medal.
Maradona, who also met with FC Porto players Lisandro Lopez and Lucho Gonzalez after the match, has been touring Europe to watch Argentine players since he took over as national coach in November.
