Kidnapped Mexican slips teller note: 'Call police'

Police say a Mexican man escaped his abductors when they took him to sign for wired ransom money and he was able to pass the teller a note saying, "I've been kidnapped, call the police."
Officers in Tijuana, across from San Diego, arrived in time to arrest two suspected kidnappers. Charges are pending.
City police said Wednesday in a statement that the captors forced the unidentified victim to call his wife, a migrant working in the United States, to ask for a $5,000 ransom by wire transfer.
But when they brought him to sign for the cash, he tipped off the worker.
The man told police he had been held for five days.
