Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Heavy snowfall is expected over northern Japan and across areas of Russia's east coast as a broad low pressure system moves northeastward across the Kuril islands Friday before entering the northwestern Pacific Ocean by late evening. Light rain and snow showers are expected across southern Japan.
A strong ridge of high pressure will dominate mainland Asia bringing mostly clear and dry conditions throughout Friday, although scattered snowfall is expected over the mountainous regions of central China.
Seoul will rise into the lower 0s Celsius, while Tokyo will see temperatures in the upper 10s C. Shanghai will rise into the lower 10s C.
An area of low pressure will remain along the northern coastline of Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected across the northern half of the Northern Territory and Queensland. To the south, an exiting cold front will sweep across southern Victoria and trigger light morning rain showers along the coast.
Sydney will see temperatures in the lower 30s C, while Melbourne will rise into the upper 10s C. Brisbane will rise into the lower 30s C.
