UN: Israeli shell hits UN car in Gaza City

A U.N. official says an Israeli shell hit a clearly marked U.N. car in Gaza City, wounding the driver.
U.N. official Chris Gunness said the car was hit Wednesday night. He says the vehicle was emblazoned with U.N. initials and carried a U.N. flag, lit with a spotlight.
The army said it was investigating.
Only the driver was in the vehicle, which is used to transport senior U.N. officials in Gaza.
Israel is conducting a fierce ground and air military campaign in Gaza meant to crush militant group Hamas. But tensions have developed between the U.N. and Israel over incidents of shelling that have hit or landed near U.N. installations, killing civilians.
