Pa. man charged in fatal collision with lawmaker

A Pennsylvania auto mechanic has been charged with vehicular homicide, drunken driving and other charges in a head-on collision that killed a veteran state lawmaker.
Thomas Senavitis (sen-uh-VEYE'-tihs) was charged Wednesday in the Oct. 17 collision that killed Republican state Sen. James Rhodes and seriously injured Rhoades' wife, Mary.
State police say Senavitis' blood-alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit for driving when his pickup truck crossed a center line and plowed into the Rhoades' Cadillac.
Rhoades, a seven-term Republican from Schuylkill County, died the following day.
Senavitis told police in court documents that he only had one beer several hours before the crash.
