Taipei, Jan. 14 (CNA) Prices on Taipei's stock futures market were lower Wednesday, with the Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Index for January shedding seven points to close at 4,510, with 81,258 contract transactions.
TAIEX Index futures for February fell seven points to close at 4,476, with 2,896 contracts traded, while March futures were down seven points to end at 4,455, with 19 contracts traded.
June futures dropped four points to close at 4,418, with 66 contract transactions, while September futures declined six points to end at 4,229, with 62 contract transactions.
Taiwan International Mercantile Exchange reference levels for TAIEX Index futures trading were set Wednesday at 4,517 for January, 4,483 for February, 4,462 for March, 4,422 for June and 4,235 for September.
The Taiwan stock exchange's benchmark TAIEX index moved down 10.89 points to finish at 4,521.47, on turnover of NT$60.76 billion (US$1.83 billion).
Electronics (TE) and financial (TF) futures, which are sub-index futures based on Taiwan Stock Exchange-listed electronics shares and financial stocks, were mixed.
January TE futures fell 1.2 points to close at 174, with 4,145 contracts traded, while February TE futures dropped 1.5 points to finish at 173.15, with 88 contracts traded. No transactions were recorded for the other months.
January TF futures were up 5.2 points to close at 554.2, with 4,500 contracts changing hands, while February TF futures increased six points to finish at 553, with 171 contracts traded. No transactions were recorded for the other months.
