Israel's military takes PR battle to YouTube

Israel's military is using YouTube to explain its bruising air offensive in Gaza to the world.
The military spokesman's office has opened a YouTube channel with footage it says was taken during the 5-day-old Israeli assault targeting Hamas militants in the Palestinian territory.
One of the aerial surveillance videos shows what the military says are militants loading rockets onto a truck before being targeted by an Israeli missile.
Israeli military spokeswoman Maj. Avital Leibovich says the "blogosphere and the new media are basically a war zone" in a battle for world opinion. She said Wednesday the YouTube channel is an important part of Israel's attempt to explain its actions abroad.
Gaza officials say some 390 Palestinians have been killed in the offensive, sparked by rocket fire at Israeli towns.
