Israeli court proposes some Gaza press access

Israel's Supreme Court has proposed that the government allow at least some foreign journalists to enter the war-torn Gaza strip.
This challenges a broad press ban imposed in November but falls short of the total access demanded in a lawsuit by international reporters in Israel.
The court's Wednesday proposal suggests that groups of up to 12 journalists be allowed across the border whenever it is opened for humanitarian shipments.
The court gave the government until Thursday morning to respond. A broader suit asking that accredited media be allowed to cross on demand is still pending.
Gaza has been under a tight blockade since Palestinians stepped up rocket fire into Israel in November. The territory is currently being rocked by a massive Israeli air offensive targeting Hamas militants.
