Israeli leaders meet to decide on next move

Israel's prime minister, defense minister and foreign minister are meeting in Jerusalem to decide on Israel's next move in its offensive against Hamas.
Officials say one of the proposals they are considering is a temporary cease-fire. However, they are also taking more steps to prepare for a ground offensive.
They asked Cabinet ministers by telephone Tuesday to approve the callup of an additional 2,500 reserve soldiers, should the need arise. Earlier this week, the Cabinet approved the callup of 6,700 reserve soldiers, in the event of a ground offensive.
Under a proposal floated by officials close to Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Israel would suspend its offensive to give Hamas an opening to halt rocket fire.
