Naimova banned for 2 years for doping offense

Bulgarian sprinter Tezdjan Naimova received a two-year suspension Tuesday for a doping offense.
The Bulgarian Athletics Federation imposed the ban and said the 21-year-old Naimova, who won the 100- and 200-meter races at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Beijing, admitted manipulating a doping test.
The suspension was backdated to Sept. 30.
Several Bulgarian athletes have been caught doping in the past two years. The list includes 400 sprinter Vanya Stambolova, high jumper Venelina Veneva, 800 runner Teodora Kolarova, 1,500 runner Daniela Yordanova and hammer thrower Andrian Andreev.
