Prices higher on Taipei futures market

Taipei, Dec. 30 (CNA) Prices on Taipei's stock futures market were higher Tuesday, with the Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Index for January advancing 177 points to end at 4,565 with 71,659 contract transactions.
TAIEX Index futures for February gained 172 points to finish at 4,535, with 476 contracts traded, while March futures rose 172 points to end at 4,507, with 29 contracts traded.
June futures were up 180 points to close at 4,488, with four contract transactions, while September futures increased 175 points to end at 4,292, with 26 contract transactions.
Taiwan International Mercantile Exchange reference levels for TAIEX Index futures trading were set Tuesday at 4,388 for January, 4,363 for February, 4,335 for March, 4,308 for June and 4,117 for September.
The Taiwan stock exchange's benchmark TAIEX index increased 172.88 points to finish at 4,589.04, on turnover of NT$50.47 billion (US$1.54 billion).
Electronics (TE) and financial (TF) futures, which are sub-index futures based on Taiwan Stock Exchange-listed electronics shares and financial stocks, were mostly higher.
January TE futures gained 7.5 points to close at 173.2, with 3,056 contracts traded, while February TE futures advanced 7.25 points to finish at 171.9, with 25 contracts traded.
September TE futures increased 5.85 points to finish at 157 points, with two contracts traded. No transactions were recorded for March and June.
January TF futures were up 33 points to close at 598, with 3,246 contracts changing hands, while February TF futures increased 32.4 points to finish at 594.6, with 18 contracts traded.
March TF futures increased 34.8 points to close at 593.2, with four contracts transactions. No transactions were recorded for June and September.
