Riesch leads women's World Cup slalom

Maria Riesch of Germany led a women's World Cup night slalom Monday after the opening run.
Riesch finished in 58.68 seconds to gain a commanding 0.53-seconds lead over Tanja Poutiainen of Finland. Austria's Kathrin Zettel, who won Sunday's giant slalom, took third with 0.78 seconds to make up in the second leg.
Slalom world champion Sarka Zahrobska of the Czech Republic was fourth, 0.86 behind.
Riesch holds seven World Cup titles after winning a slalom in La Molina, Spain, two weeks ago.
Overall World Cup champion Lindsey Vonn, starting in the red bib as leader of the slalom standings, finished sixth, 1.18 behind Riesch.
