Latam stocks up slightly, echoing Wall Street

Latin American stocks are seeing mixed trading, echoing movement on Wall Street and in Europe, where some investors welcomed a rise in crude oil prices amid concerns that Israel's attack on Gaza might disrupt oil production.
Brazil's Ibovespa index was up 0.8 percent to 37,173 in early afternoon trading, while Chile's IPSA index rose 0.4 percent to trade at 2,360 and Argentina's Merval jumped 2.4 percent to trade at 1,084.
Mexico's IPC index opened up slightly then dipped 0.3 percent to 22,448 in early morning trading, and Colombia's principal IGBC index rose 0.05 percent to later drop by 0.12 percent to trade at 7,552.
The advance in oil was welcome for some investors who have worried that plunging prices signaled a long and severe recession.
