Catholic priest leads protest march across Ireland

A Roman Catholic priest has begun a 140-mile (225-kilometer) march across Ireland to protest the church's handling of sex abuse cases.
The Rev. Michael Murnagh says he planned the nine-day walk from Cork to Dublin to bring attention to the failure of church leaders to atone for mishandling of hundreds of abuse cases.
The 70-year-old priest says he chose Cork for the start of his journey Monday because the southwestern county is at the center of a recent abuse scandal. A church-commissioned investigation found that a Catholic bishop placed Cork children in danger by not telling police quickly about abuse allegations against two priests from 1995 to 2005.
Murnagh says his solo walk will be a symbolic "walk of atonement."
