Moderate quake jolts central China; no injuries

A 5.0 magnitude earthquake shook southwest China's Sichuan province Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The U.S. agency said the quake occurred around 2 p.m. local time (0600 GMT) in northern Sichuan at a depth of 6 miles (10 kilometers).
The agency says the quake's epicenter was 60 miles (100 kilometers) northeast of the city of Mianyang, which was devastated by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake on May 12. The quake killed at least 70,000 people, left another 18,000 missing and presumed dead and 5 million homeless.
China's state seismological bureau confirmed an earthquake struck Sichuan, but said it recorded a magnitude of 4.9. An official with the bureau said the office had not received any reports of casualties.
