Inter defeats Reggina 3-2 with injury-time goal

Inter Milan needed an injury-time goal from Ivan Cordoba to beat last-place Reggina 3-2 in the Serie A on Saturday.
Cordoba shot from close range in a crowded area at the end of the second half to propel Inter into first place _ a point ahead of Udinese and Napoli which play their matches Sunday.
"No game is a given," Cordoba said. "We suffered and could have managed the game better after going up 2-0, but we let our guard down. What was important was to get these three points."
After two straight 0-0 draws, Inter moved ahead through Maicon in the 9th and Patrick Vieira in the 24th. Maicon converted a precision pass from Zlatan Ibrahimovic while Vieira _ who had not played in a month _ took a pass from Ricardo Quaresma and threaded the ball between the legs of Reggina goalkeeper Andrea Campagnolo.
Francesco Cozza got one back for Reggina shortly before halftime and Franco Brienza equalized for the home team in the 53rd.
"What I say now is exactly what I would have said if the game had finished 2-2 and that is that we played a great game," Inter coach Jose Mourinho said. "In the second half after they drew even 2-2 we had a fantastic reaction and created eight chances to score."
Inter has 21 points, Udinese and Napoli have 20 and Milan follows with 19.
In Turin, Alessandro Del Piero scored with a free kick from 30 meters (yards) as Juventus defeated struggling AS Roma 2-0 for its third straight win after going a month without a victory.
Del Piero, a free kick specialist, shot over the wall and into the upper left corner of the goal to beat Roma keeper Alexander Doni.
Marco Marchionni added a goal at the start of the second half.
Several spectacular saves by Doni kept the game from being a rout and a repeat of Roma's 4-0 loss to Inter two weeks ago. Doni pushed away a strong bicycle kick by Amauri in the opening minute of the second half and then stopped a close range shot by the Brazilian striker in the 68th.
The win gives Juventus 18 points while Roma, which has lost four straight, is just clear of relegation with seven points. Roma was in contention for the Serie A championship last season until the final game of the season.
Roma played Saturday without captain Francesco Totti who is fighting inflammation in a knee that was operated on in April.
Roma's best chance came in the 20th when a cross by Christian Panucci cut the area untouched and bounced off the post.
