Prices edge lower on Taipei futures market

Prices edge lower on Taipei futures market

Prices on Taipei's stock futures market were lower Wednesday as the Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Index for November fell 28 points to close at 4,288, with 170,104 contracts changing hands.
TAIEX Index futures for December lost 30 points to finish at 4,231, with 1,537 contracts traded.
March futures fell 38 points to close at 4,186, with 68 contract transactions, while June futures lost 24 points to finish at 4,169, with 141 contract transactions. September futures were down 29 points to close at 4,029, with 31 contracts traded.
Taiwan International Mercantile Exchange reference levels for TAIEX Index futures trading were set Wednesday at 4,316 for November, 4,261 for December, 4,224 for March, 4,193 for June and 4,058 for September.
The Taiwan stock exchange's benchmark TAIEX index moved up 6.55 points to finish at 4,406.52, on turnover of NT$79.74 billion (US$2.39 billion).
Electronics (TE) and financial (TF) futures, which are sub-index futures based on Taiwan Stock Exchange-listed electronics shares and financial stocks, were mixed.
November TE futures fell 1.5 points to close at 174.5, with 6,175 contracts traded, while December TE futures lost 1.25 points to finish at 172.25, with 220 contract transactions. No transactions were recorded for March, June and September.
November TF futures were up 7.6 points to close at 458.6, with 4,765 contracts changing hands, while December TF futures were up 4.4 points to finish at 454.4, with 52 contracts traded.
March TF futures increased 11 points to close at 464.4, with one contract transaction. No transactions were recorded for June and September.
