Bangladesh wins toss, sends New Zealand in to bat

After a three day wait because of persistant rain, Bangladesh skipper Mohammad Ashraful won the toss and opted to field first against New Zealand in the second cricket test at Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
The first three days were washed out but there was no sign of rain on day four, allowing for a start with only two scheduled days remaining and with New Zealand leading the two-match series 1-0.
Bangladesh selected Mahbubul Alam to replace Nayeem Islam while New Zealand drafted in South Africa-born Grant Elliot to replace all-rounder Jacob Oram, who was ruled out because of back problems.
A tropical depression has dumped rain on Bangladesh since Friday but the wet weather had eased by Tuesday morning.
