Poland blocks bank accounts of football federation

Polish authorities say they have frozen some bank accounts belonging to the country's football federation.
A spokeswoman for Warsaw's Tax Chamber said Monday that the action was taken because the federation owes up to 10 million zlotys (US$3.2 million) in unpaid taxes.
Agnieszka Zukowska told TVN24 television that part, but not all, of the money owed was frozen. She did not say how much.
The move comes three days before elections are held for a new governing board for the federation.
The government has been in conflict with the federation over allegations that the FA is not doing enough to combat corruption in Polish football.
