Grenoble climbs into sixth place in French league

Grenoble climbed into sixth place in the French league on Sunday with a 2-0 win at Saint-Etienne, while Sochaux remains the only team without a victory after drawing 1-1 at Nancy.
Grenoble took the lead in the third minute when forward Daniel Moreira's shot deflected off defender Yohan Benalouane. Franck Dja Djedje headed in Grenoble's second goal from a corner in the 82nd.
At Nancy, midfielder Stephane Dalmat put Sochaux ahead in the 19th when he converted a pass from Marvin Martin's free kick. But Sochaux was denied its first win of the season when Marc-Antoine Fortune equalized with a header in the 75th.
Lyon tops the standings with 21 points, while Marseille is in second place with 19 points. Grenoble's fifth win of the season took it to 17 points, while Sochaux stays bottom with six points.
Later Sunday, Marseille would claim top spot if it beats rival Paris Saint-Germain.
The Web site of sports daily L'Equipe reported that two PSG fans received minor injuries from fighting between rival supporters near a service station.
