Egypt news company fined for broadcasting protest

An Egyptian judge has fined a news company for not possessing the proper operating license after it uploaded footage of violent anti-government demonstrations.
Judge Sherif Kamel fined Cairo News Company 150,000 Egyptian pounds ($27,000) Sunday for operating unlicensed broadcast equipment in response to a government complaint.
The complaint came shortly after CNC broadcast footage from Al-Jazeera English in April showing anti-government protesters tearing down a huge portrait of President Hosni Mubarak.
Authorities in Egypt are very sensitive about negative portrayals of the president.
CNC provides filming equipment and personnel to news agencies in Egypt then transmits their footage.
