TAIPEI (Taiwan News) - Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Kao Koong-lian (高孔廉) will head a delegation of 11 government officials to the Chinese city of Shenzhen tomorrow. A deputy chairman-level preparatory negotiation is scheduled to be held tomorrow and the issues to be discussed will include cross-strait direct flights and ships, cross-strait postal service cooperation, food safety issues, and Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait Chairman Chen Yunlin's (陳雲林) upcoming Taiwan visit which is slated for Nov. 3 though not exactly confirmed by the SEF Chairman Chiang Pin-kung (江丙坤).
The SEF published a list indicating the representatives of the China-bound delegation, including Kao, Mainland Affairs Council Vice Chairman Fu Don-cheng (傅棟成), SEF Vice Secretary-General Chang Shu-ti (張樹棣), MAC officials James Chu (朱曦) and Lee Li-cheng (李麗珍), Ministry of Transportation's Department of Navigation and Aviation Director Lin Chih-ming ( 林志明 ), Department of Posts and Telecommunications Director Tony Teng ( 鄧添來 ), Department of Health’s Bureau of Food Sanitation Director Chen Shu-kong (陳樹功), SEF chairman’s special assistant Kao Wen-cheng (高文誠), and two SEF staffers Chang Szu-kang (張斯綱) and Chang Feng-ching (張峰清).
The delegation will depart for China on a China Airline flight in the morning. The meeting will be held in Shenzhen at 1pm. The delegation will return to Taiwan tomorrow night around 11pm.
