Burger King, Dachan form joint venture

Burger King, the second largest fast food chain in the world, decided to invest more in Taiwan's dining market and formed the first joint venture with Dachan Group.
Burger King has reached NT$2.5 billion revenue income for its 2008 fiscal year, a 10% increase compare to last year. Headquarter of Burger King showed great interest in Taiwan's dining market, especially. It highly recognizes the management team in Taiwan branches. Through this joint venture, more branches will be opened soon and is looking forward to opening more than 100 Burger King.
John Chidsey, chairman of Burger King, Peter Tan, president of Burger King in Asia-Pacific region, and Han Jia-yu, chairman of Dachan Group, all showed up at the ceremony for the grand opening of the joint venture.
Director of Department of Commerce, MOEA, and Keith Schneller, director of Agricultural and Trade Office of AIT (American Institute in Taiwan) also came to the ceremony and gave congratulating speech.
Since its establishment in 1954, Burger King currently has 11,500 chained restaurants in 71 countries in the world. Independent franchisers account for more than 90% of its chained restaurants. Therefore, this breaking through plan of the Burger King and Dachan Group joint venture set up a new milestone for the fast food chain.
