Striker Maloney back at Celtic on 4-year deal

Scotland striker Shaun Maloney returned to Celtic on Friday, ending his spell at Aston Villa by signing a four-year deal with his first club.
Maloney debuted for Celtic in 2001 and scored 37 times in 138 appearances, but moved to the English Premier League in January 2007 after failing to agree to a new deal.
The versatile 25-year-old striker struggled to command a regular starting place in Martin O'Neill's side, and was offloaded Friday in a deal that could be worth 2.5 million pounds (US$4.7 million; euro3.1 million).
"At the time I probably knew in my heart of hearts it wasn't the right move," Maloney said. "I don't want to disrespect the club I was at but I think they knew in the first few months I really struggled with it and the manager and staff were great with me.
"But I knew it wasn't the club I wanted to play for and, thankfully, I came back."
