Maggi wins Olympic long jump for Brazil

Maurren Higa Maggi of Brazil won the gold medal in the women's long jump at the Beijing Olympics on Friday.
The world indoors silver medalist led from the first round at 7.04 meters, and didn't improve that mark in later jumps.
World and Olympic champion Tatyana Lebedeva of Russia, who took silver in the triple jump, got another silver in the long jump, finishing only one centimeter behind Maggi on her final attempt.
Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare, who was 13th in initial qualifying and only made the final when third-ranked Lyudmila Blonska was expelled for failing a dope test, took bronze.
"It's the biggest moment of my life. Everything is a big miracle," Okagbare said. "I took the courage to do it."
Carolina Kluft, the three-time world champion and 2004 Athens Olympic champion in the heptathlon, finished ninth. World indoor champion Naide Gomes didn't qualify for the final.
