Roma, Inter Milan meet in Italian Super Cup

AS Roma and Inter Milan will begin the new season where they left off when they meet Sunday in the Italian Super Cup.
The two teams fought over the Serie A title until Inter secured the championship on the last day of last season, while Roma defeated the Milan club in the final of the Italian Cup.
Now they meet again, with a chance to seize an early psychological edge in the traditional season curtain raiser between the league champion and cup winner at San Siro in Milan. The Serie A season begins next weekend.
"It will be a special game for all of Inter," said Amantino Mancini, who transferred from Roma to Inter in the offseason. "We all want to have a great game and bring home the first trophy of the season."
It will also be Jose Mourinho's first game in charge of Inter after taking over from Roberto Mancini, who was fired despite leading the club to a third straight Serie A title. While Inter has yet to play a competitive match under Mourinho, the Portuguese manager seems to have already instilled confidence in the players.
"We've already won," Inter's 18-year-old striker Mario Balotelli told Tuttosport. "We'll definitely win because we're in great form and a very strong Inter is emerging."
Inter is hoping that striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has recovered from knee problem that bothered him during much of last season, while Francesco Totti is expected to return for Roma. It would be Totti's first competitive match since injuring his knee in April, although local media said he was likely to start on the bench.
