Striker Maloney back at Celtic on 4-year deal

Scotland striker Shaun Maloney returned to Celtic on Friday, ending his spell at Aston Villa by signing a four-year deal with his first club.
Maloney debuted for Celtic in 2001 and scored 37 times in 138 appearances, but moved to the English Premier League in January 2007 after failing to agree to a new deal.
The versatile 25-year-old striker struggled to command a regular starting place in Martin O'Neill's side, and was offloaded Friday in a deal that could be worth 2.5 million pounds (US$4.7 million; euro3.1 million).
"We are always looking to improve and he is another good player," Celtic midfielder Paul Hartley said before the deal was completed. "We have a good squad as it is now and we know Shaun can play in a number of positions. He had a good spell at Celtic the first time so I'm sure he will do well again."
