Petrobras' P-51 platform to pump oil by December

Petrobras says a new drilling platform will be pumping oil and natural gas in Brazil's offshore Campos Basin by December.
Construction manager Roberto Moro says the US$830-million platform known as P-51 will be able to pump 180,000 barrels of oil and 6 million cubic meters of natural gas a day.
It is the first semi-submersible platform built completely in Brazil, and Moro says President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will inaugurate it in October.
Moro told reporters Thursday that the floating platform will pump oil from the Marlim Sul field, which lies about 175 kilometers (about 110 miles) off the coast from Rio de Janeiro.
