Healy, Cisse bolster Sunderland's strike force

Sunderland strengthened its attack Thursday by signing David Healy in a three-year deal from Fulham, while the club also confirmed that Djibril Cisse will join in a season-long loan deal.
The double addition provides Roy Keane with a huge boost ahead of Saturday's Premier League match at Tottenham, and the manager hopes Cisse's switch from Marseille will become permanent.
"This signing shows our ambitions and intentions," Keane said of the deal, which Marseille announced on Wednesday. "The signing of Djibril shows how far this club has moved on since the end of last season. His experience will bring a lot to the squad and he will hopefully add some goals to the side. He is known for scoring them as well as creating them."
Senegal striker El-Hadji Diouf also joined in the offseason.
Healy was the top scorer in European Championship qualifying with 13 goals for Northern Ireland, although he missed a penalty kick Wednesday during a 0-0 draw in a friendly against Scotland.
"David will be a good signing for us," Keane said. "He has lots of experience at the top level and his international record is phenomenal."
Keane's eighth summer signing is well known to the former Manchester United captain, as they were teammates at Old Trafford.
"I'm aware of the passion of the Sunderland fans, having played at the Stadium of Light a few times," Healy said. "I can't wait to get going. It's an exciting move for me."
