Benitez has peace talks with Parry over transfer

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has held peace talks with chief executive Rick Parry after blaming him for the failure to sign Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry.
Benitez was frustrated at the Anfield hierarchy for not providing financial backing to reinforce the left of midfield.
"Clear-the-air talks have taken place," Benitez announced Thursday on Liverpool's Web site. "It was a positive discussion and we will now move forward together."
Parry added that "we had a friendly and positive meeting and we're moving forward."
Liverpool's American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr. were unwilling to meet Villa's asking price for Barry, deeming that the 27-year-old England international was not an astute financial move.
