Israel warns of Hezbollah kidnap attempts

Israel's government is warning its citizens of the danger of kidnap attempts abroad by Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas.
The travel advisory tells Israelis abroad to reject business and entertainment offers that appear "unexpected and alluring." Also, the government says Israelis should vary their daily routines, stay away from dark places and keep suspicious people out of their hotel rooms.
The advisory was issued Wednesday. It declares that Hezbollah is "unremitting in its efforts to attack Israelis throughout the world, with its emphasis on kidnappings." Hezbollah agents captured an Israeli businessman in 2000, freeing him in a prisoner exchange four years later.
The precautions do not differ from warnings in effect for Israelis for years.
