Molson Coors names Coors unit boss Swinburn as CEO, picks Stewart Glendinning as CFO

Peter Swinburn will take over as the new president and chief executive of Molson Coors when a joint venture between the brewer's U.S. operations and SAB Miller's Miller Brewing closes, the company said Tuesday.
Denver-based Molson Coors Brewing Co. said Stewart Glendinning will take over as chief financial officer at the same time.
The combination of the two companies' U.S. units into MillerCoors is expected to close on June 30. Federal regulators approved the deal last week. Miller Brewing Co. and Molson Coors Brewing Co. are the nation's second and third-largest brewers.
The companies said combining their U.S. operations will help them compete against U.S. industry leader Anheuser-Busch Cos.
Swinburn, who joined the company in 2002 during the Coors Brewers Ltd. acquisition in the U.K., is now president and CEO of Coors Brewing Co., the U.S. division of Molson Coors.
He will replace Chief Executive Leo Kiely, who will become the new CEO of MillerCoors, said Paul de la Plante, a Molson Coors spokesman.
Swinburn has also been president of Coors Brewing Worldwide. He graduated from the University of Wales.
"Peter (Swinburn) has been in the beer industry for 34 years, knows every facet of our business, has experience in global markets and has a proven ability to lead successfully through times of change and growth," Eric Molson, chairman of Molson Coors Brewing Co., said in a written statement.
Glendinning joined Molson Coors in 2005 and is now the CFO of Coors Brewing Ltd., the U.K. subsidiary of Molson Coors Brewing Co. Glendinning is replacing Tim Wolf, who will be the chief integration officer at MillerCoors, de la Plante said.
The company's new headquarters have not been announced.
